David Allan is making a play for a national presence. Calmly, slowly, one move at a time.
ON A COLD FEBRUARY DAY a decade and some odd years ago, David Allan walked aimlessly along the sea wall in Vancouver wondering what the hell he was doing with his life. Eight months prior he had decamped from Quebecor Printing, leaving his regional vice president role and shifting gears from 20 years of printing experience to work as an executive recruiter. Leaning back in his chair at Rhino Print Solution’s Toronto office, Allan recalls his thought process. “You find the business can be a grind at times, and you think, ‘Gosh, isn’t there an easier way to make a living?’”
