Fastsigns invests in an Esko Kongsberg V table
Fastsigns, an independently owned and operated sign, graphic and visual communications company, has invested in a new Esko Kongsberg V Finishing table. The addition will bring in-house many of the cutting and routing tasks that had been subcontracted out to complete.
"One of our best customers was ordering more and more items that needed cut substrates, and it required us to seek help," owner Paul LeBlanc said. "It was challenging for us. The subcontractor's cost made it difficult for us to make money. Also, it created time pressures for us. We would print the project, ship it across town, wait for the project to be cut, and then ship it back. It took too much time."
There are more than 530 Fastsigns franchises throughout the world. The Vancouver location was the second to open in Canada in 1996 under owner LeBlanc. Fastsigns serves retailers, the real estate industry, art galleries, and non–profits organizations.
In 2008 the facility was upgraded from its original 1,800 sq. ft. to a larger 5, 4000 sq. ft. The company’s ten employees operate two roll printers, a flatbed printer, and a thermal transfer printer.
